Healthy Meal suggestions for LongHorn Steakhouse

My family had stopped by a hotel late afternoon and wanted to get something local. We thought that getting steak would be good knowing that we were in the Midwest, we have not regretted our decision at all. I ordered an Outlaw Rib Eye (18oz) medium rare (looked almost like a rare) and wow it was good and tender, very easy to cut. It was $24.95 but it was comparable to some $40 steaks that I've had. Although Longhorn has a 3.5 I give it a 5; maybe the 4-4.5 steakhouses here are that much better?? I recommend trying this place out if you are craving some quality steak. Pros: - Closeby to the hotels - Fairly priced for the huge quantities and quality - Great Side Selections - Pretty good honey wheat bread for free starters - Great service - Spacious seating - 7% tax!! Better than 10% at Los Angeles where I'm from - Food came out relatively fast Cons: - Could use more side options - Prefer an extra side over a salad option since 2 sides = an extra $1.5 - you can tell that they used a lot of butter ... but it tasted soo good :) Overall this is a good steakhouse and I recommend it. This is my cup of t.

I like meat. I'm sure it would be healthier for me to a vegan or something, but I just can't give up the meat (reference my nickname). Thus, in search of a local steakhouse, my mom and I ended up here because we were tired of eating everywhere else in town. Not only was the place hopping, which I guess is always a good sign, but the food was very good, especially our steaks. Cooked just as we ordered, with some surprisingly delicious salads and sides. The last time I went to a Longhorns I was underwhelmed, so there's either been an update since that time, or I just had a bad experience. Either way, I will actually be back here the next time I'm in the area.

Not worth the price you pay for it. I had the 6oz steak with fries. Fries were soggy. I paid $16 for a decent steak and soggy fries.

I've now been there 3 times. A quick review of the food is that I have not had one satisfactory experience. In all 3 instances the sides were cold. The fries, the garlic fries, and the mashed potatoes (2 different orders) were all served cold. But this lady experience on 8/28/15 was just terrible. My medium sandwich was over well done and my wife's well done sandwich was below medium. My garlic fries were cold. My daughters kids tender meal was not served with fries and the extra side of fruit. Our waiter was inattentive at best. Rarely did he stop by and another waiter in the area would avoid our table. The manager was very present, there was a table with Olive Garden waitresses that commanded his attention so they could laugh about the GM there. Don thanks for the lousy service. Messing up our orders. Rolling your eyes when we asked for the extra fruit. Oh and also for making ask to leave because your terrible work ethic didn't allow you to deliver the check on a timely basis.

My favorite restaurant! What can I say? Friendly staff, good prices and outstanding food. They always seem to try and go above and beyond the "call of duty". Relaxing western decor, clean and the restrooms are spotless.

First, must give a major compliment to Britney for being as wonderful and as courteous as humanly possible. It made our dining experience that much better. Food was excellent, as expected. Overall, it was an excellent experience but with Britney being our waitress, it was excellent and beyond :)

Very good service! Love our waitress Katie. She did a great job taking care of us. We got there around 4:30ish & food came out fast! My steak was cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed the atmosphere & the music. I was very pleased with my visit here this time.

This place has great food. The ribeye is so flavorful and juicy. The prime rib is big and juicy. The prices are reasonable for the portion size

First of all: MAKE SURE YOU CALL AHEAD! We decided to go here for our Valentine's Day dinner and, assuming they'd be busy, I called ahead about 3 hours. Good thing I did because the estimated wait for walk-ins was 2 1/2 hours at that point. We came at about 6:55 and got seated at about 7:25. Not too shabby! Aside from being ridiculously busy, the service was remarkable. Our waitress got a generous tip. I got the 8 ounce Sirloin and the mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked perfectly and like butter. The mashed potatoes were the best I've ever had. I will definitely come back here!

My parents and I came here after a long drive, coming from Wisconsin heading to Wyoming. The atmosphere is awesome: the decor, the music... Our server was very informative and helpful in choosing our meals. At one point my mother opened her roll of silverware and there had been paper stuck to her fork, no big deal, just asked for a new one. The manager came to our table to apologize for it!! We were very impressed that he took the time to address what we thought was a non issue. Very impressed with the staff, the service, and the food!!!!

My wife and I came here for dinner. We were seated promptly and received service within a few moments of being seated. The server promptly took our drink and food order. We ordered stuffed mushrooms for a starter, and attempted to order a porterhouse for two. The server kindly informed is that they were out of the 30 oz steak, so we settled on sharing the 20 oz. the steak was delivered very promptly and properly cooked as ordered. The starter was lost in the shuffle, but the server quickly reacted to our inquiry and brought the starter to us as quickly as possible. Even though we mentioned that we didn't mind, they took the price of the starter off our ticket anyway. We were in and out in less than 40 min and that is with a well done steak and the starter mixup. We left full and satisfied.

First off, it's just "longhorn steakhouse", there is no texas in the name. if you go looking for texas longhorn, you'll be driving around forever. just know that it's near the battery store and across the street from gordman's and you'll find it. the food is great. i had the porterhouse last night and it was better than i expected. their bread and salads are good too. those that know me know that i'm a beer connoisseur; i take beer very seriously and seek it out wherever i go. that being said, the astute reader that is reading between the lines will understand why when i go there i stick to their house margaritas, which are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. they are made properly, with real ingredients instead of splashing tequila into some premade mix. the service during the times i've been there have been hit and miss, but the food was tasty, albeit rather overpriced. seriously, check out the margaritas.

My mom and I opted to come here on a recent visit back to the Black Hills... It was not our first choice for dining... But considering that the Texas Roadhouse was closed (no lunch hours) we thought this would be a good "runner-up". Sadly, the the Texas Longhorn Steakhouse had no issues proving its "runner-up" status. In order to save myself some time, I will summarize my grievances in bullet point fashion: -I hate when I order a salad and the waitress brings it with my entree -The food was bland and over priced -The food and overall service was extremely slow I will not be returning.

The fact that I made an effort twice to try this place is way too much. The wait staff is TERRIBLE! I have young children and it took them 25 minutes to get their water. I have tried this place in other states and the experience has been good but stay away fro this place. You'll thank me

First, the waiter didn't know the difference between red and white wine. Second, my entree never came. Third, when they finally realized that I had not been served they brought out a baked potato for me to eat. Then they gave me and undercooked, greasy steak. They have some serious problems in service, food preparation, and delivery.

I have been here on several occasions and I must admit, I was kind of skeptical about eating at another chain restaurant in this town. They all seem to be the same with the same sub-par service. But Longhorn has changed my mind! Each time that I have been here I have absolutely LOVED my meal, and the service! Each time I have went I have gotten their Grilled Chicken & Strawberry salad with the loaded baked potato soup, and I must say they are both absolutely delicious. This salad is now my most favorite salad in town! Each time I have went, the person I was with has gotten something different. The ribs are delicious, the burgers are as well. I could go on and on about this place! I am so happy that we finally have a chain restaurant in this town that stands out from the rest!

They were out of prime rib, chicken and shrimp. But I ordered the wrangler and it was very good. 6 of us there and drinks and bill was fantastic. Will come again and hope they have the prime rib!!

The food was delicious, but I was a little disappointed with the service. We showed up at 7pm on a Tuesday and had to wait. We barely saw our server the entire time we were there and it took over 20 minutes to get our food.

We ordered steaks all around and had a great time. It definitely helped that we showed up around 9:20PM (closes at 10) and there was only a couple other tables around; service was fast and excellent!

Went there on a Sunday, missed the rush, and had amazing food. Decorations are great, prices are right on for the BEST STEAK in RAPID CITY!!! We had the mushrooms for the appetizer and it was amazing, free bread, salad was great, good portion size, the Outlaw Steak was amazing and great flavor, I had the stuffed lobster steak PLEASE TRY! Seriously I'm from Texas and have had a lot of steak, no one in RAPID compares!

My wife and I had lunch there last week. Our waiter was exceptional!!! We both had their house burger. Both cooked as ordered. Both quite good. Anticipatory refills on our drinks was very nice. Nice to have good service and good food at a chain restaurant. Much quieter and better kept atmosphere than the other "Longhorn" restaurant in town.

The first time i had lunch here it was great. The burger was amazing. But when we went last night it was as amazing. First we had to wait 25 minutes to get a table, even though there were empty ones scattered all over. Then we ordered the prime rib, expecting it to be great because they are a steakhouse, it was not amazing. It was extremely tough and it was grilled. Grilling prime rib is the ultimate sin when it comes to cooking it. I have to admit that the waitress was really nice and always made sure our drinks were full. And the side were good, even though they were ice cold. If you want a good burger the longhorn is great, but dont come here for a prime rib.

No line which was shocking, now we now why.....I ordered my steak med. and my husband ordered his med. rare, came out the opposite. That would have been not such a big deal, but my husband ordered a cup of coffee which arrived quickly, but my husband asked our waiter for cream once, it never came, and I had to ask for it an additional two times. It finally arrived, after asking the expediter. When I did get my fillet, it was not seasoned, as my husband's bone in rib-eye was not either. Baked potatoes were over cooked. Service just plain sucked, had to wait for everything even though they were not busy. This was our chance to give a chain a second chance, not worth it. If in Rapid, go to Delmonico or the Wine Cellar!!!!!
